Disney+ Hotstar has announced a list of 54 titles that will be released on its platform in October 2022. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has something off-kilter for us this month, in the form of its first TV special, Werewolf by Night. Starring Gael Garcia Bernal and directed by Michael Giacchino, who usually scores MCU backgrounds, Werewolf By Night drops on Disney+ Hotstar on October 7. Meanwhile, the ongoing MCU series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has two episodes left. Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of She-Hulk will conclude with the special Making of She-Hulk on October 13, followed by October 20 on Disney+ Hotstar.
From home on HBO in October 2022, we’ll be treated to two second seasons. The first is the Emmy-winning comedy-drama The White Lotus, which travels from Hawaii to Sicily and will focus on a new cast of characters living at a resort. White Lotus Season 2 is expected to premiere on October 31 on Disney+ Hotstar. The other is the Hugh Laurie-led sci-fi comedy Avenue 5, which is expected to launch on October 11 on Disney+ Hotstar. Speaking of HBO, the first season of House of the Dragon’s big-budget Game of Thrones prequel series will end in October — the three episodes we have after today — with the finale on Disney+ Hotstar on October 24.
If you’re interested in a local origin, Hotstar Special has revealed three so far for October 2022. First, we have Exposed, a Telugu-language newsroom drama led by Kajal Seelamsetty and Sirisha Nulu, where a famous anchor is challenged. A star with a hidden agenda. That’s not all. From the US, we have new and returning series in October 2022. Tales of the Jedi takes us a galaxy far, far away with six animated shorts focusing on the early years of Dooku and Ahsoka Tano. Star Wars: Teles of the Jedi opens on October 26. Meanwhile, a live-action Star Wars series led by Diego Luna Indoors It continues throughout the month of October, with a new episode dropping every Wednesday.
Additionally, the long-running hospital drama Grey’s Anatomy returns for its nineteenth season, starting October 7 on Disney+ Hotstar. October also brings second seasons of both the sports comedy-drama Big Shot (October 12) and the mystery adventure The Mysterious Benedict Society (October 26). And finally, Hilary Swank stars as a reporter looking for a fresh start in Alaska Daily, which is expected to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on October 7.
There are a bunch of new American movies that you should keep an eye on. The Comanche-driven Predator prequel Prey is premiering in English and Hindi on Disney+ Hotstar on October 7, as we’ve known for a while now. In addition, the horror film Barbarian, which hits theaters in the US on September 9, is coming direct to Disney + Hotstar in October. The same goes for Rowan Blanchard and Auli Cravalho’s upcoming film Crush and the Romeo and Juliet-inspired rom-com Roseline with Caitlin Dever. Elsewhere, an internet meme comes to life in Grimcutty, expected on October 11 on Disney+ Hotstar; And a woman literally encounters a monster after returning to her childhood home in The Matriarch, expected October 21 on Disney+ Hotstar.
Disney+ got used to this and dropped many Korean shows. Experimental dating series Pink Lie will start on Disney+ Hotstar from October 5. Police University series Rookie Cops, delayed since September, is now coming with all episodes on October 12. In Shadow Detective, a detective on the verge of retirement engages in psychological warfare with a new criminal. And Sumo Do, Sumo Don’t! In, a high school senior joins a sumo club as his only gateway to graduation. Shadow Detective and Sumo Do, Sumo No! Disney+ will launch on Hotstar from October 26.
Finally, the Japanese-language anime series Summer Time Rendering premieres in India on October 19.
