Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming thriller ‘Jogi’ teaser out

The makers of upcoming period emotional thriller film Jogi unveiled the teaser of the film on Saturday. Taking to Instagram, Netflix dropped the teaser, which they captioned, “Watch Jogi Ka Hansla, Jogi Ka Himmat, and Jogi Ki Dosti. Jogi, will stream only on Netflix on 16th September.” Based on the 1984 Sikh riots, the film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra, Amyra Dastur and Hiten Tejwani in the lead roles. Helmed by Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is all set to stream exclusively on Netflix from September 16, 2022.

The 40-second long teaser sets the scene in Delhi in the moments before and after the 1984 tragedy as Jogi fights for family, brotherhood and unity against all odds.

The film Udta Punjab marks the actor’s digital debut.

Talking about his role in the film, Diljit said, “Playing the role of Jogi has been one of the most satisfying experiences and I am looking forward to my digital debut on Netflix. The entire team has come together to bring this beautiful story to life. I have worked really hard… and I want to thank Ali and Himanshu for trusting me for this role. I am looking forward to the audience watching our film and showing my love.”

The Tiger Zinda Hai director said, “Jogi is a very special film for me and who could be better than Diljit to play the role of Jogi! It is about hope, brotherhood and courage in adverse times and this story is… How difficult times are often unites different people. I am extremely humbled that our story will reach millions of viewers through Netflix not only in India but across the globe.”

Meanwhile, Diljit will also be seen in the upcoming family entertainer Punjabi film Bebe Bhangra Paude Ne opposite actor Sargun Mehta, which is all set to release on September 30, 2022.

Ali, on the other hand, is also working with actor Shahid Kapoor on his next action thriller project Bloody Daddy. The film is the official Hindi adaptation of the French film Nuit Blanche.
