Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday launched an advanced Green War Room to monitor air pollution in the national capital round the clock and ensure effective implementation of the Winter Action Plan to check it. Addressing a press conference here, the minister said the war room would function from the seventh floor of the Delhi Secretariat where a 12-member team of environmental scientists and other officials would be deployed.
“We have launched an advanced green war room from today and it will work round the clock. It will monitor the level of air pollution 24X7 and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to contain the pollution as per the revised GRAP. The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is a set of anti-air pollution measures in the national capital and its adjoining areas as per the gravity of the situation.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced a 15-point winter action plan to tackle pollution in the city.
Minister Rai said – War room will also be added Green Delhi App Through which residents can send their complaints regarding pollution like burning of garbage to the war room. After this necessary instructions will be issued to the concerned departments to solve the problem.
The Minister said that till date 54,156 complaints have been received on Green Delhi App by residents of different parts of the city. “Out of 54,156 complaints, around 90 per cent have been resolved. Maximum 32,573 complaints are related to MCD, followed by PWD with 9,118 complaints and 3,333 complaints related to DDA,” Minister Rai said.
