What is the biggest TV series in September? The other big-budget entry in September comes from Disney-owned Lucasfilm, as we get a new live-action Star Wars series. IndoorsRogue One follows Diego Luna’s renegade spy. Indoors Disney+ and Disney+ will launch on Hotstar from September 21.
Two popular shows are making a comeback in September. The Karate Kid sequel series Cobra Kai is back for a fifth season, with karate training being taken to even more ridiculous heights. Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence may have split up, but they might find their way back to each other. (Heart hand emoji? Don’t kill me, sorry.) Cobra Kai Season 5 arrives on Netflix worldwide on September 9. At the ridiculous end of the spectrum, we also have mature animated ones Rick and MortyJ is returning for a sixth season of the interdimensional adventure. Rick and Morty It will launch on Netflix in India from September 5.
From India, we have one more announcement – Jamtara, a series about fishing, politics and small-town opportunity, returns to Netflix on September 23 for a second scam. With that, here’s our September 2022 guide to TV shows and web series on Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video.
And oh, before you start, you won’t find any unconfirmed titles for India below. It includes the likes of Donald Glover’s absurdist comedy-drama AtlantaIts fourth and final season begins September 15 on FX and September 16 on Hulu (both US). Atlanta Season 4 returns the show to its title city after a season spent largely in Europe.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Here is the most expensive TV show of all time. Amazon has already shelled out $250 million (roughly Rs. 1,995 crore) on LOTR rights and $465 million (roughly Rs. 3,712 crore) on Rings of Power season 1 and “infrastructure to sustain the entire series”, more than two-and-a-half times Warner Bros.’s Peter Jackson. spent on the film trilogy. The movies grossed nearly $3 billion (about Rs. 23,946 crore) at the box office, so Amazon will have to sell a lot of Prime subscriptions.
OK, but what is it about? Set thousands of years before The Lord of the Rings films, the series will — as the title says — center on the Rings of Power and the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron. Simultaneously, it will chart the fall of the island kingdom of Nmenor and the last alliance between Elves and Men. LOTR fans will know that we’ve seen it in the five-minute prologue in the movies, but The Rings of Power creators JD Payne and Patrick McKay want to expand it into “50 hours of television.”
Now, there isn’t much to this in the novels other than appendices, which means the Amazon series will expand on what JRR Tolkien wrote back in the day. Payne and McKay are also making some changes — don’t worry, the Tolkien estate approves of them — the biggest of which is cutting back the Second Age by thousands of years. why Because human characters would otherwise continue to die due to their short lifespans. Also, it allows The Rings of Power to introduce more characters than it would otherwise be capable of.
If you’re worried about the big picture, don’t be. Payne and McKay already have five seasons mapped out — they even know their final shot. Filming for the second season begins in October in the UK. Like Jackson’s movies, the first one was filmed in New Zealand, but Amazon decided to move production halfway through, starting with season 2.
Season 1 will premiere with two episodes on September 2 at 6:30 am IST, with future episodes releasing from October 14 at 9:30 am IST. The Rings of Power is available in six languages — English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada — in India.

Rick and Morty Season 6
When: September 5
Where: Netflix
An alcoholic scientist grandfather who doesn’t care much for his family and his grandson who has had enough of his grandfather’s antics but is still stuck in his orbit. I’m talking, of course, about Rick (voiced by co-creator Justin Roiland) and Morty (also Roiland). Naturally, the rest of the Smith household is also around — Morty’s insecure father Jerry (Chris Parnell), his perpetually irritated older sister Summer (Spencer Grammer) and his nagging mother Beth (Sarah Chalke).
As always, we know very little about the new one Rick and Morty The season is going on. The Season 6 trailer only gives us random bits and pieces that are strung together in an incoherent fashion. There are die hard jokes, Summer gains Wolverine-type claws, and Rick shoots things out of his hand more than once. And yes, there are more impossible-to-explain gadgets hidden up Rick’s sleeve. And hey, maybe Rick and Morty is getting into the podcast game?
A new episode of Rick and Morty Season 6 will air every Monday on Netflix in India, after a late-night premiere on Adult Swim in the US and elsewhere. Cobra Kai Season 5

After the three-episode premiere on September 21, the new Indoors Episodes will drop weekly on Disney+ Hotstar until November 23. A second and final season is already in the works.

Jamtara Season 2

More than two-and-a-half years since its first season, the true-crime-inspired Jharkhand-set crime series is back for a second run. And second, the big scam. While Sunny (Sparsh Srivastava) masterminds the scheme, Gudiya (Monica Panwar) and Rocky (Ansuman Pushkar) – who help him set up the operation – fight their own way after the events of Season 1.
Joined by Ravi Chahal and Seema Pahwa (Ramprasad Ki Teharvi). Jamtara Cast in roles revealed in season 2. Kartavya Kabra, Sarfraz Ali Mirza, Rohit KP, Harshit Gupta, Atma Prakash Mishra, and Udit Arora – all part of Season 1 – are also expected to participate.
National Award winner Soumendra Padhi (Budhiya Singh: Born to Run) is back as the director along with season 1 writer Trishant Srivastava (Nisha Aur Aske Chulat Sisthi).
All parts of Jamtara Season 2 is out simultaneously on September 23.
