The 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival (Cannes Film Festival 2022) is one of the oldest festivals in the film world. The film festival will run from May 17 to May 28. Cannes Film Festival 2022 is going to be important for India in many ways, India will be included as a ‘Country of Honour’ for the first time. From this year the tradition of Country of Honor started at the Cannes Film Festival. The honor comes at a time when France and India are completing 75 years of diplomatic relations. This time a glimpse of Indian art culture will also be seen here.

Many famous faces of India are going to be seen in the 75th Cannes Film Festival (Cannes 2022). Deepika Padukone is part of the jury of Cannes Film Festival 2022. a R. Rahman, Shekhar Kapur, Ricky Kej are among the celebrities who walked the Cannes red carpet. Besides them Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Prasoon Joshi and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur will lead the Indian delegation to Cannes, which has already reached there.

Films and documentaries from around the world are selected at the Cannes Film Festival in France. Awarded to the best film and artist. A total of six Indian language films will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. One of these films includes ‘Rocketry – The Nambi Effect’, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Dhun, Godavari, Tree Full of Parrot, Boomba Ride. On May 22, a hall dedicated to India will screen unpublished films from the country.

During this, AR Rahman said that I consider myself lucky to be a part of Cannes this time. My first directorial venture will premiere at Cannes, which I am very excited about.

At the same time, Prasoon Joshi said that India has always been a part of Cannes. Cannes has two parts. Films of Ek Market and Durya Jahan are shown. Both these parts are very important. This year is special for us, because this time India is going to get the ‘Country of Honor’ award.


He further said that the government and all the star-filmmakers have taken this matter seriously. We will all interact at the industry level and share our views on partnerships. Global views will be discussed. This is a good opportunity for us to say that this is a festival that we can explore on our own level.
