Britain’s Arm said on Monday that it has appointed Splunk’s Jason Child as its new chief financial officer, as the chip designer prepares for a public listing.
SoftBank Group founder and chief executive Masayoshi Son said in June that the group would list the arm on Nasdaq and that the company had been requested to list in London.
Child will join the company on November 2 this year, succeeding Inder Singh, who stepped down as chief financial officer of software maker Splunk on Monday, Arm said.
Son’s experience in financial management and initial public offering (IPO) execution at public companies will be invaluable in preparing for a potential public listing, Arm CEO Rene Haas said in a statement.
The planned Arm IPO comes after Nvidia’s sales collapsed earlier this year.
The Cambridge-based firm was listed in Britain with a secondary listing in the United States before being acquired by SoftBank in 2016 for $32 billion (roughly Rs. 2,60,700 crore).
