Apple may launch its mixed reality (MR) headset in 2023, according to a report. The Cupertino tech giant is working on three new headsets, N301, N602 and N421. The first MR headset will be called Apple Reality Pro, which is said to compete with Facebook’s upcoming Augmented Reality (AR) – Virtual Reality (VR) headset. The report states that the headset will not be launched at a ‘far out’ event. According to a recent report, Apple has filed an application for the “Reality One” and “Reality Pro” trademarks.

According to A Report Apple is working on three new AR-VR headsets, the N301, N602, and N421, according to 9To5Mac, citing Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter. The Cupertino tech giant is said to have first launched the Apple Reality Pro, which could be an MR headset. It will compete with Facebook’s upcoming AR-VR headset.

The company will unveil Apple Reality Pro in 2023. A light-weight AR version of the headset is said to be launched later in the year. The N602 will reportedly succeed the Apple Reality Pro headset, but will cost less than the first MR headset. N421 is the codename for Apple’s rumored AR glasses. The report further highlights that Gurman does not expect Apple to make any announcements regarding AR-VR headsets and glasses at the ‘Far Out’ event on September 7.

In June, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple could begin EVT testing for its MR headset in or around the third quarter of this year. Kuo added that the company will hold a special media event later, which could be held in January next year.
