Washington. Firing incidents have become common in America these days, the latest case is of Washington. A 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday in Washington for allegedly shooting two classmates. Briefing on the incident, DC Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Conti said that shots were fired just before 10 a.m. (local time) at Idea Public Charter School, located at the intersection of Lee Street and 45th Street, according to a Washington Post report.

According to reports, the victims have been admitted to the hospital. Police investigated the incident in the 4500 block of Lee Street NE and placed 350 students and additional staff at Idea Public Charter School on lockdown, The Washington Post reported, citing school officials. The police chief told the media that authorities have seized more than 2,000 illegal revolvers this year, about 800 more than last year. In another incident, another teen was shot inside a building in southeast Washington on Wednesday, the Washington Post quoted police as saying.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man was charged Wednesday in connection with a series of shootings that killed three people in nearly two hours in Detroit last week. At the same time, Fox News reported quoting the police that three people were killed in the firing started by accused Donta Ramon Smith at around 4.30 am on Sunday. Expressing concern over the increasing incidents of shootings, US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he was committed to banning assault weapons in the US.
