Car Comparison: Tata Motors has made a splash in the electric car segment in the country. The company on Wednesday launched its much-awaited Tiago EV in India. But now it is being compared with its elder brother, the Tata Tigor EV. Before the Tiago EV, the company launched the Tigor EV. The Tigor EV was the cheapest electric car ever. But now it has been replaced by the Tiago EV. Today we are going to weigh these two cars.
Who offers the most range?
When shopping for electric vehicles, the first thing a consumer is going to buy is the car. This gives the Tiago EV a range of 315km with a 24kWh battery pack. While the smaller 19.2kWh battery pack offers a range of 250km, the company claims. Also, the Tigor EV gets a 26kWh battery pack and the car is claimed to have a range of 306km.
Power
The electric motor of the Tiago EV produces 74bhp along with a massive battery pack of 24kWh. While the Tigor EV generates 75bhp power with a 26kWh battery pack. Anyway, both these cars accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds.

The Tigor EV gets features like 7-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, auto headlamps, digital instrument cluster, 8-speaker audio system, rear camera and connected car technology. Whereas the Tiago EV gets all the same features with the new version of connected car technology. The company says that Tigor EV customers will also get a software update.

The price of Tigor EV starts from Rs 12.4 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.6 lakh. The starting price of the Tiago EV with the smaller battery pack starts at Rs 8.49 lakh, which goes up to Rs 11.7 lakh for the top-end variant. The Tiago EV is a better car with more features and range. Whereas the Tigor EV will appeal to those who want more space and boot space.
