T20 World Cup: Less than two weeks are left for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. In such a situation, many players are trying to recover from injuries and working hard to be a part of the World Cup, while some players have already pulled out of the tournament due to injuries before the World Cup. However, a shocking news has come out from West Indies cricket. (West Indies star batsman Shimron Hetmyer has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup)
Not reaching the airport on time has cost West Indies Shimron Hetmyer. West Indies Cricket Board has dropped Shimron Hetmyer from the T20 World Cup squad. Also, Shemar Brooks has been given a place in the team in his place.
West Indies star batsman Shimron Hetmyer has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup. Due to his arrival at the airport, the board took a tough decision and dropped him from the T20 World Cup squad.
Shimron Hetmyer has been replaced by batsman Shamar Brooks in the West Indies squad for the Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The West Indies Cricket Board made this announcement on Monday.
Another aircraft had already been arranged for Hetmyer. He was to leave for Australia with the team on October 1. Hetmyer had sought two days’ leave for family reasons. Due to this, he was to leave by plane on 3 October. This time he could not reach the airport on time. This angered the West Indies Cricket Board. He dropped Hetmyer from the team.
“The decision was taken by the CWI selection committee after Shimron Hetmyer missed a flight to Australia,” the board said in a statement.
