Twitter denies Elon Musk’s claims of breach of contract over whistleblower payments: report

Elon Musk sends another letter to Twitter that demands termination of takeover deal over whistleblower claims: report

Twitter on Monday said it has not breached any terms of its $44 billion (roughly Rs 3,49,900 crore) takeover deal with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The microblogging service was accused by Musk of breaching the terms of the contract as he made another attempt to back out of the deal. While he previously claimed he was misled about the number of fake or spam users on Twitter, Musk on Friday cited $7.75 million (roughly Rs.

According to A Report Via Reuters, Twitter has responded to a letter sent to Twitter by Elon Musk’s lawyers, saying the company did not violate any of the terms of the deal it signed earlier this year to acquire the microblogging platform.

Musk’s lawyers sent a letter to Twitter on Friday stating that the company did not seek his consent before paying Zatko $7.75 million (roughly Rs. 60 crore), according to reports. Lawyers for the Tesla CEO have claimed that Twitter was barred from making these payments and that failure to obtain their consent was a breach of the merger agreement.

The whistleblower, who was previously head of security at Twitter, was fired in January. Last month, Zatko filed a complaint claiming Twitter misled regulators, saying it had a solid security plan in place to deal with hackers and spam or fake accounts.

On Friday, it was reported that Musk’s lairs claimed that the company paid $7 million (roughly Rs. 55 crore) to its former security chief and whistleblower to keep quiet about operational problems at the company.

According to reports, Musk’s attorney Alex Spiro made the claim during a hearing last week ahead of the upcoming October court battle between Elon Musk and Twitter. The report suggests that the whistleblower is Zatko, who is believed to have been paid by the company for lost compensation after leaving the company.
