Svante Pabo awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology Medicine for research on evolution

Mumbai: Today the Nobel Prizes have been announced and Swedish scientists be yourself (Svante Paabo) in the medical field of the year Nobel (Nobel Prize in Medicine) has been awarded. He has been given this award for his discoveries related to the genome of extinct hominin and human evolution.

Svante Pabo from Sweden is a geneticist who researches human development. He is one of the founding scientists of paleogenetics and has conducted extensive research on the Neanderthal genome. Announcing his name, the Nobel Prize Committee has said that Svante Pabo through his research has accomplished something that was previously considered impossible. His major research is the sequencing of the Neanderthal genome. The Neanderthal genome is now extinct. Svante Pabo has also researched the hominin Denisova.
