Matthew Williams, artistic director of the Parisian house Givenchy since 2020, is a somewhat special figure in the world of luxury. Self-taught Californian, founder of the streetwear label 1017 Alyx 9SM, he created stage costumes for Lady Gaga before being a finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2016. At Givenchy, he breathes an aesthetic between street and couture spirit and like many designers of his generation, is committed to more responsible fashion.
