What is a sustainable investment? A study commissioned by the Autorité des marchés financiers, published in the summer of 2021, concluded that for the French, this notion refers first to ecology and respect for the environment. However, it is much broader since, investing sustainably also means seeking to promote companies that respect labor rights, the aim of which is not only to maximize profits.

Moreover, a vast study published on September 27 by the international asset manager Schroders testifies to the increased interest in social issues compared to climate-related issues. Indeed, on the scale of the entire panel, covering 23,950 asset investors from 33 geographical areas, the fight against global warming only comes in 5th position among the areas in which they would like their investments to have the more impact. With 32% of the vote, this theme comes tied with the reduction of inequalities.
