India tour of South Africa: The first T20 match between India and South Africa was played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. In this match, India won by 8 wickets on the back of aggressive half-centuries from star batsman KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. With this win, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has broken many records in T20 cricket, including helping India win. He tops the list of most run-scorers for India in a calendar year. Apart from this, he has also achieved the feat of hitting the most sixes in a calendar year in T20 International cricket.
The Indian team, chasing the target set by the South African team, was seen struggling. Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli came back cheap as the South African team put the Indian team on the backfoot. However, after that Suryakumar, who came to bat on the field, batted aggressively without any pressure and gave India victory. Along with this, Suryakumar Yadav has also overtaken Indian team’s star batsman Shikhar Dhawan in the case of scoring the most international T20 runs in a calendar year.
Shikhar Dhawan is left behind
Dhawan scored 689 runs for India in 2018 international T20 cricket. So, Suryakumar has reached the milestone of 700 plus runs this year. Virat Kohli has become India’s highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals four times in a calendar year.

Suryakumar Yadav, who hit three sixes in the first T20 match against South Africa, has made a special record in T20 cricket. He has become the first batsman to hit the most number of sixes in this calendar year. He has 45 sixes to his name. This year Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan is second with 42 sixes and New Zealand’s Martin Guptill is third with 41 sixes. The T20 World Cup will be played in Australia next month. Suryakumar Yadav’s bat is expected to rain in this tournament.
India-South Africa T20 series schedule
Before the T20 World Cup, Team India is playing a three-match T20 series against South Africa. After this, the ODI series will start from October 6. The Indian team will now take the field for the second T20 match to be held on October 2. This match will be played in Guwahati. The third and last match of the series will be played in Indore on October 4.
