Mumbai : Seven-year-old boy died after electric scooter’s battery exploded. This unfortunate incident happened in Vasai. The name of the child who died in the blast is Shabbir Shahnawaz Ansari. The explosion occurred while the battery of the electric scooter was being charged. This incident happened on 23 September. Shabbir, who was injured in the blast, was admitted to the hospital for treatment. However, while the treatment was going on, the little boy was admitted to the hospital on Friday.

At present, citizens are giving priority to electric vehicles due to rising fuel prices and environmental protection. However, electric vehicles are becoming a matter of concern due to fires caused by the batteries of electric vehicles. Even before this, there have been many incidents of electric vehicles exploding. Meanwhile, a seven-year-old boy, Shabbir, died in an explosion while charging the battery of an electric scooter in Vasai.

Shahnawaz Ansari, a resident of Ramdas Nagar in Vasai East, kept it in the hall of his house to charge the battery of his electric scooter at around 2.30 in the morning of 23 September. The battery exploded at around 5.30 am. Shahnawaz’s seven-year-old son Shabbir and his mother Ruksana, who were sleeping in the hall, were injured. Shabbir has burnt from 70 to 80 per cent. Shahnawaz’s house caught fire due to this battery explosion. The house was also damaged in this fire. There has been a lot of damage due to burning of household items. Shabbir was undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. But on Friday, he died during treatment.

The Manikpur police have speculated that the blast was caused by overcharging of the battery or a short circuit. Senior Police Inspector Sampatrao Patil has informed that the incident has been reported to Manikpur police station.

Meanwhile, several incidents of fire in electric two-wheelers have been reported across the country in the last few months. Therefore, the central government had also issued notices to five companies in the month of July.
