Pune Chandni Bridge Update: The bridge at Chandni Chowk, which led to a traffic jam in Pune, finally collapsed at 7:00 pm. After the explosion, only dust was visible near the bridge for some time. Gradually the dust settled and the picture of the bridge built on Chandni Chowk came to the fore. For the past several days, preparations were being made to demolish the bridge. One thousand 300 holes were drilled in the bridge and 600 kg of explosives were filled. With all the preparations and precautions, the countdown for the demolition of the bridge started after 1 o’clock in the morning. And this bridge, creating dilemma for the residents of Pune, collapsed in an instant. After the bridge was demolished, the work of clearing the debris started. Removal of these debris will be completed in a few hours.
Radar removal work has been going on for more than six hours after the bridge was demolished. Work is going on from both the sides with the help of JCB and Poklane. The collector himself is keeping an eye on this work. Traffic is still closed at Chandni Chowk. Alternative routes have been provided for transportation. Debris removal work will continue for several hours.
Traffic change-
- Heavy traffic coming from Mumbai on the Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway will be stopped on the Urs Toll Road.
- Heavy traffic coming from Satara will be stopped near Shivpur toll booth.
- There will be a ban on the movement of all types of heavy vehicles on the Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway from Shindewadi to Urs Toll Road on both sides.
- The movement of all types of vehicles will be restricted on both sides between Dukkar Khind on the Mumbai-Bangalore National Highway and Ghorawat Chowk in Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate limits.
