PFI Ban Updates Maharashtra Government Likely To Ban Raza Academy

Raza Academy: Central government Popular Front of India (PFI) After banning this organization, now the Maharashtra government at Raza Academy (Raza Academy) has started the discussion of banning it. It is being said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis can announce a decision on the ban after Navratri. Raza Academy has been in the news for the last few years.

Samit Thakkar, who is called a BJP supporter on social media, has tweeted about this. Thakkar is also said to be in touch with senior BJP leaders. Sameet Thakkar has tweeted that Raza Academy will be banned. So the discussion has started whether Raza Academy will be banned.

Samit Thakkar had made objectionable posts against the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, ministers Aaditya Thackeray and Nitin Raut during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. A complaint was lodged with the police regarding this post. Then the police arrested him. Thakkar was in jail in this case. The High Court released him on bail.

What is Raza Academy?

Raza Academy was founded in 1978 by Alhaj Mohamed Saeed Noori. Noori has been the President of Raza Academy since 1986. Raza Academy publishes books by Imam-e-Ahmad Raza Khan Qadri and other Sunni scholars. The Akademi has so far published books in Urdu, Arabic, Hindi and English languages.

Due to the movement, Raza Academy has also come in the limelight. On 11 August 2012, Raza Academy along with some other Muslim groups protested the riots in Assam and attacks on Muslims in Myanmar at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. There was a lot of violence in this movement. Two died and more than 50 were injured in this. Recently, a few months back, there was a rumor about the involvement of Raza Academy in the Amravati riots.

Apart from this, Raza Academy has also given music to composer A.R. A fatwa was issued against Rahman and Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi for making a film about Muhammad. Apart from this, the stand taken by Raza Academy on some other issues appears to be controversial.
