PCMC made six packages…
The Municipal Corporation made six packages of Pay and Park. One of these packages is the ‘Pay and Park’ area given by the builders to the Municipal Corporation on BRT Road. The remaining five packages include Nashikphata to Nigdi, Chapekar Chowk, Telco Road, Spine Road, Aundh-Ravet BRT Route, KSB Chowk-Hinjawadi (Road near Birla Hospital, Auto Cluster-Kalewadi Phata) on Pune-Mumbai Road. Pay and Park has started. However, it was decided to give 50 percent of the amount received from parking and salary expenses to the municipal corporation and the remaining 50 percent to the contractor. Accordingly, the implementation has also started. In this regard, the Municipal Corporation had sought tenders from the contractor companies. Among the participating contractors, Nirmala Auto Care was given the work of ‘Pay and Park’. However, we cannot afford to do ‘pay and park’ considering the last six months’ income and employees’ salary, so the company has given a letter to the municipal corporation that we cannot do this work.
Will Pimpri Municipality find a solution?
Municipalities and traffic police also provide towing vans for police operations to promote ‘pay and park’ and discipline unruly drivers. But now the plan seems to have failed after the contractor backed out. In such a situation, it is necessary to see what solution Pimpri Municipality will come up with for this.
