Ambabai Temple Navratri: On the occasion of Shardiya Navratsavam, the third garland was offered today to Sri Ambabai Devi, a resident of Karveer in the form of Sri Siddhidatri Devi. This puja was built by Shripujak Anil Kulkarni, Narayan (Ashutosh) Kulkarni, Prasad Latkar, Srinivas Joshi.

Siddhidatri is the ninth incarnation of Shri Durga Devi (Navdurga). Siddhidatri is the goddess who gives success to deities, demons, humans etc. Siddhi means extraordinary ability. According to the Markandeya Purana, there are eight siddhis – Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva. According to Brahmavaivarta Purana, there are eighteen siddhis including these eight.

According to Devi Purana, Lord Shankar had attained Siddhi only by the grace of Siddhidatri. At the same time, due to his mercy, half of his body became that of the goddess. Hence Lord Shankar became famous as Ardhanarishvara. Siddhidatri is seated on Kamalasana. She is quadruped, holds conch shell, chakra, mace and lotus.
