The number of baccalaureate holders to receive a proposal from Parcoursup remains stable. According to the results of the past season, published this Thursday by the Ministry of Higher Education, they are 93% to have received at least one proposal.

In detail, general baccalauréat holders are slightly less likely than the previous year to have received an admission offer (96.9%, -0.2 points). The trend is also downward for technological baccalauréat holders (90.1%, -0.6 points). On the other hand, it is on the rise for vocational baccalauréat holders (82.6%, +1.1 points). Of the high school students who received a proposal, 83.5% accepted one.

Reorientation students are also more likely to have received a proposal (83.9%, +1.2 points in one year). They are 64.1% to have accepted one.

More candidates, fewer high school students

This 2022 procedure is part of a particular context, recalls the ministry. “The platform welcomed both more candidates (936,000, compared to 931,000 in 2021), but fewer high school students (622,000, compared to 635,000 in 2021) due to the demographic drop recorded in terminale”, indicates the balance sheet of the season.

For all applicants, the main admission phase has been shortened: from 108 days in 2018, it is now 44 days, or 64 days less. This acceleration is appreciated by high school students: 68% of them say they are satisfied with the time in which they received their admission proposals (+4 points compared to 2021). They also received more proposals. In total, 3.8 million proposals were made to candidates, a figure up by 4%.

Increase in the number of training courses

On Parcoursup, the year 2022 is also that of an increase in the number of training courses (+3,000, including apprenticeship). The enthusiasm for learning is also confirmed. More than 215,000 candidates confirmed at least one apprenticeship wish, compared to 202,000 in 2021.

The evolution of high school demographics and the good results of the admissions phase have made it possible to significantly reduce the number of candidates to be supported. At the end of the main phase, 18,900 candidates had applied to higher education access commissions (CAES), compared to 23,400 in 2021. At the end of the 2022 procedure, 160 baccalaureate holders were still supported. They were 239 in 2021.

The support provided in high school is also perceived positively, according to an Ipsos survey. More than 7 candidates out of 10 declare having been accompanied in their high school during registration and the creation of their file. More than two thirds of high school students also ensure that Parcoursup has facilitated their entry into higher education.

However, this period remains a source of stress. The high school students questioned express expectations to reinforce the transparency of the criteria used by the courses for the examination of the application files.

“There is still a process which is in continuous improvement each year”, estimated during a press conference the vice-president of France Universities, Guillaume Gellé. He also underlined that the announcement of the inclusion next year in Parcoursup of specialty tests was “excellent news for our universities, since we will still be able to have this element of appreciation to better guide high school students “.
