Japanese Prime Minister Kishida condemned the missile test, saying a ballistic missile passed over his country’s territory and crashed in the Pacific Ocean. He said that continuous missile firing is an act of violence.

According to the Japanese government, the siren went off after the missile passed through Japanese airspace. Citizens were advised to take shelter in a safe place in Japan at around 7:29 a.m. local time. Then at around 8:00 the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office tweeted that a North Korean missile had passed over Japan.
