Netflix October 2022 Release: Unmatched Season 2, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and more

Netflix has announced just one Indian original for October 2022 – a stark contrast to last month, when we saw five. The sole honor goes to the second season of the rom-com series Mismatched, with Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf returning to play the Jaipur summer program teenagers who fell for each other in the first season. But things don’t go as they expected and they find themselves with other people at the beginning of the new season. Season 2 of Mismatch releases on Netflix on October 14. Vihan Samat, Muskan Jaffery, Taruk Raina, Ranvijay Singha, Vidya Malvade, Kritika Bhardwaj, Abhinav Sharma and Devyani Shorey, Priya Banerjee, Ahsas Channa and Sanjana Sarathy are also back.

Internationally, Netflix may not have a shortage of titles to offer in October 2022, but it’s certainly been a quiet month. The biggest new original series comes from the mind of Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) — it’s called The Midnight Club. At a hospice for terminally ill teenagers, members of an exclusive club find themselves making a chilling deal: the first person to die must send a sign from beyond the grave. The Midnight Club drops on Netflix on October 7th. Horror fans should also check out Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities — available October 25 — where the Oscar-winning director offers eight tales of strange nightmares.

If you’re looking for something a little lighter in October 2022, Netflix is bringing the third and final season of teen sitcom Derry Girls on October 7, after it premiered on Channel 4 in the UK. It’s unclear if that will include a special episode airing a day after the finale, but we hope so. Elsewhere, Zoe Saldaña and Eugenio Mastrandrea star as an artist and chef, respectively, who fall for each other in the limited series From Scratch, debuting on Netflix October 21. And finally, Hassan Minhaj has a new stand-up comedy special on October 4, where he shares his thoughts on fertility, fatherhood and freedom of speech.

For those who want something more adventurous, there’s The School for Good and Evil. Adapted from the 2013 novel, it follows two best friends whose bond is tested after being sent to a magical school for future fairy tale heroes and villains. The School for Good and Evil is available on October 19. Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne star in the true crime thriller The Good Nurse, in which an overburdened ICU nurse learns something surprising about her selfless new colleague. The Good Nurse storms in October 26. It follows the war film All Quiet on the Western Front – released on October 28 – where a 17-year-old’s enthusiasm is shattered by the realities of World War I trench life.

In October 2022, Netflix will also offer a (fictional) account of Spotify’s founding with a playlist, streaming on October 13. If you’re into the documentary format (and enjoyed The Last Dance ), keep an eye out for Redemption Team, where the US men’s basketball team seeks redemption after its disastrous performance at the 2008 Olympics four years earlier. Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and other American basketball stars will be participating. Redemption Team Hoops premieres October 7 on Netflix.
