Municipal corporation crackdown on roof top hotels and bars in Pune

Pune Roof Top Hotels: in Pune (Pune) Illegal Roof-Top Pub (Roof Top Hotel) and the action has been initiated in the bar. Action has been taken against these pubs and bars by the State Excise Department for violating several licensing rules of the Police Department. Action has been taken against 19 such illegal pubs and bars. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMCIssued notices to 12 pubs and bars in Balewadi High Street area for illegal construction.

The State Excise Department team had already searched these pubs and bars and informed their managers in a written letter. Under this, action has been taken within a month. State excise officials have said that a proposal to impose fine on them has been sent to the collector.

In the last one month, action was taken against 23 pubs and bars for violating the licensing guidelines. We have sent a proposal to the collector to punish the violators and a decision is expected soon, said CB Rajput, head of the Pune state excise department.

Hotels of this type can be found on many buildings in Pune. Immediate action should be taken against illegal constructions on roofs or roofs of buildings, with special attention to rooftop pubs and bars. Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar in his order said that action has been taken against famous rooftop pubs and bars in Mahamadwadi, Kalyaninagar, Yerwada, Koregaon Park, Baner, Pashan, Kothrud, Kharadi and other upscale areas of the city.

There are many rooftop hotels and bars in Pune. These bars remain open till late at night. Many roof top hotels and bars have become the favorite destination of many youngsters. Locals often complained about the sound of singing as the youth’s voice and noise continued till late night. During this, the Civic Forum also accused the police. A total of 77 rooftop hotels are on the radar of the municipality. It turns out that only six hotels have the proper licenses. After that the Municipal Corporation has issued notices to 67 hotels and bars. Of these, action has been taken against 19.
