Mumbai: The government has taken action against 10 YouTube channels for posting videos that create communal tension and disrupt public order in the country. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the video contained many objectionable content. It also includes fake news and morphed videos aimed at spreading hatred among religious communities. Many false claims were made in this. Based on information received from intelligence agencies, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has directed YouTube to block 45 YouTube videos from 10 YouTube channels. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said the blocked video had been viewed more than 1.3 million times.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said that morphed videos and photographs are being used to harm India’s national security, foreign relations and public order.
The I&B ministry on September 23 directed video streaming platform YouTube to immediately block those 45 videos under the provisions of the Information Technology (Moderation Guidelines and Digital Media Code of Conduct) Rules 2021.
