Maruti’s first car with 4×4 system
The Grand Vitara is Maruti’s first all-wheel drive car. But the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door will be the first Maruti car to get a Thar-like 4×4 system. Also, it will also get a low-range off-road mode. The 5-door variant is identical to its 3-door variant. It requires new body panels and new door designs for longer range as well as longer wheelbase. The 5-door Jimny will only be available with the 4×4 system. Also, this car will be launched in both manual and automatic options.

In the new Jimny, the company has given a new 1.5 liter petrol engine with paddle shifters. Customers will get a 6-speed automatic transmission. This will be a mild hybrid engine, which has already been offered along with the full hybrid on the Grand Vitara. In the new Jimny, the company has given much better features than the 3-door global model, which include 360 degree camera, heads-up display, off-road special display and a touchscreen. However, the new Jimny will not get a sunroof. Because this feature is available in Brezza and Grand Vitara.

The new Jimny can be launched at Auto Expo 2023 (2023 Auto Expo). The premium SUV will be sold along with the Grand Vitara from the Nexa showroom here. The 5-door Jimny can be called the Gypsy’s successor. This car was seen as an iconic model in India. But unlike the Gypsy, the Jimny will come with a 5-door. Which is also suitable as a family SUV.
