Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani approached to head the Financial Markets Authority

Soon a woman at the head of the Financial Markets Authority (AMF)? The ball is now in Emmanuel Macron’s court. Bercy offered to appoint Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani as head of the stock market policeman, according to letter A. The President of the Republic must still approve this choice.

Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani is currently Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery. This former enarque (promotion 93), inspector general of finance, is a senior civil servant who has alternated between public and private positions. She notably spent fourteen years at the General Directorate of the Treasury, from 1993 to 2007, before joining the Prime Minister’s Office from 2010 to 2012, then Bercy in 2019. In the meantime, she was Deputy Director General of the National Federation of Crédit Agricole and Managing Director of the FBF (French Banking Federation).
