It is recorded in history that during this period Shivaji Maharaj along with his followers performed traditional and scriptural worship of Ghatandevi and had darshan of the goddess. The sensual and radiant form of the Goddess is still the center of attraction for the devotees. Goddess Ghatana, seated on a tiger, blesses the devotees with a happy posture and grants them the boon of their onward journey. Hence the local people believe that there has been no trauma or accident around the temple and no particular crisis has come upon the village.

Restoration and permanent establishment of the temple
It is said that the Goddess was established here from the Vedic period. There used to be rice paddy at the old place near Ghatandevi and it is still there today. As the dilapidated old temple fell, the senior devotees of the village thought and immediately started the work of a new temple. The temple was built after two-three years of tireless hard work. The idol of the goddess was established in 1980 by senior social activist Brijlal Rawat. The temple was registered with the Charity Commissioner in 1996. A board of nine members is acting as trustees. Devotees from different parts of the state visit this place during Navratri festival for nine days of pilgrimage. There is an influx of devotees for darshan from five in the morning to ten in the night.
