Lata Mangeshkar Biography: Song queen Lata Mangeshkar has rocked the music world with her voice for over seven decades. Lata didi breathed her last on 6 February 2022 at the age of 93 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
Lata didi sang for the first time for the english film ‘Kitty Hustle’. The lyrics of this song are ‘Nachu aa gade, khelo sari mani haus bhari’. The song was composed by Sadashivraj Nevrekar. The film was directed by Vasant Joglekar. But this song was dropped from this film. That’s why Lata Didi’s first song was not released.
Lata Mangeshkar sang the song ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logong’ at the Red Fort in 1963. At that time the former Prime Minister Pt. Nehru’s tears spilled out. As a child, Lata didi secretly listened to her mother in fear of her father. Even his father did not know that Lata didi could sing.
Lata didi sang on stage with her father for the first time at the age of nine, when her father found out that she could sing. Lata didi has sung more than five thousand songs in 36 languages. At the age of thirteen, Lata didi started working in the music industry.
Lata Mangeshkar and Meena Kumari were good friends. Meena loved Lata didi’s voice. That’s why she often went to the studio for recording with Lata didi. Although Lata didi has sung more than five thousand songs, her first song is yet to be released.
The song ‘Aiga Aane Wala’ from the film ‘Mahal’, released in 1949, became quite popular. This song is also included in the hit songs of Lata Didi. Lata didi also sang the song ‘Laghi Nahi Mokhte’ from the movie ‘Musafir’. This song was sung by Dilip Kumar with Lata Didi.
