Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) food delivery service Zoop has partnered with Reliance-owned Haptik to provide online food delivery services in trains via WhatsApp. With the latest collaboration, passengers can order food through a chatbot on the instant messaging app without downloading any additional apps and have it delivered to their seats while travelling. Passengers have to enter their PNR number to place the order and the service offers real-time tracking.
According to a Video Shared by Haptic on YouTube, IRCTC’s Zoop collaborates with Haptic to offer WhatsApp-based food delivery service in trains. The platform now allows passengers to book food of their choice from partner restaurants via WhatsApp while traveling in trains.
Passengers can connect to a WhatsApp chatbot called ‘Ziva’ through the number +91 7042062070 and then have to enter their PNR number to order food. The chatbot will verify the travel details and allow passengers to select the station where they want the food delivered. Online and cash payment options are available.
The chatbot will help passengers track orders and provide feedback in real-time. Once they reach their chosen station, passengers will be served food at their respective seats.
According to a PTI report, the new service is currently available at over 100 A1, A, and B category railway stations including Vijayawada, Vadodara, Warangal, Upadhyay, Kanpur, Tundla Junction and Balharshah Junction.
