India condemns hate crime at Canada Bhagavad Gita Park

Canada Shri Bhagavad Gita Park: Hate crime has increased in Canada in anti-India activities. An incident of vandalism has come to light in a park in Brampton, Canada. This vandalism took place in Bhagavad Gita Park. India has condemned the incident. Along with this, the Indian High Commission in Canada has demanded the police to take action against the culprits in this case at the earliest.

At present there is no sign board in Bhagavad Geeta Park. Also, the police have informed that no evidence of sabotage has been found in the park. India has expressed concern after this incident.

The High Commission of India in Ottawa said in a tweet that we strongly condemn the incident at Sri Bhagavad Gita Park in Brampton. We have urged the Canadian authorities as well as the police to take immediate action. The park was formerly known as Troyers Park. After that, the name of this park has been changed and now it is known as Bhagavad Gita Park. The park was inaugurated on 28 September.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown has confirmed reports of vandalism in the park. We do not support this action. The signage put up in the Bhagavad Gita Park has been demolished. The local police is investigating the matter and the signal will be rectified at the earliest. The Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indian citizens and students living in Canada to be cautious. The High Commission has stressed on investigating such crimes and taking appropriate action.
