The trailer of House of the Dragon Episode 8 has been released. HBO released a preview for next week’s episode of the Game of Thrones prequel series, which foreshadows the battle for the Driftmark throne, following an unspecified injury to Lord Corlys Velarion. Titled “The Lord of the Tides,” House of the Dragon Episode 8 picks up a little after a brawl in the Sailor Empire, which starts with fake deaths and conflict. House of the Dragon Episode 8 premieres on October 10 at 6:30 am IST/October 9 ET on Disney+ Hotstar and HBO Max respectively.
The trailer for House of the Dragon Episode 8 opens with a minor time jump, returning Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) to power as the Hand of the King. In light of the unexplained absence of King Viserys (Paddy Considine), he now appoints himself as interim ruler. “As Hand, I speak with the king’s voice in this and all other matters,” he declares to the court. Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) is clearly distressed by the shift in power, calling the Hightower family “vipers” who prepare to deliver their first blow from day two. “Then to King’s Landing,” Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) tells Rhaenyra, the pair reunited in the last episode and consummated their relationship with a kiss.
The two seem to be planning some kind of attack, with the events of episode 7 serving as the catalyst — Amond (Evan Mitchell), Alicent’s other son, loses his eye in a brawl at Driftmark. This makes Rhaenyra and Queen Elisent (Olivia Cooke) bitter enemies, prompting them to exact revenge by stabbing young criminals. The House of the Dragon Episode 8 trailer then focuses on the Kingdom of the Sailors, where Lord Corliss Velarion (Steve Toussaint) aka Sea Snake has been “severely wounded” and put out of action. His brother Waymond (Wilbert Charles Johnson), tempted by the opportunity, decides to claim it.
“The crown cannot stand strong if the House of the Dragon remains divided,” Viserys intones in voiceover, as the threat of war looms. The final moments of the House of the Dragon episode 8 trailer show Daemon examining a dragon’s egg, while Emund orders an attack on Rhaenyra’s children, known as bastards due to the dark color of their hair.
New House of the Dragon episodes air every Monday in India on Disney+ Hotstar at 6:30 am IST and Sundays at 9 pm ET on HBO Max wherever available. Season 1 consists of 10 episodes.
