The countdown has begun for the competition for the bus network in the “central zone” of the RATP (Paris and inner suburbs), which will become effective on 1er January 2025. And the warning signals have been multiplying recently in the face of this inevitable process, stalled by law since… 2008.

After the more or less voluntary absenteeism among bus drivers, which worsened markedly at the start of the school year (the proportion of bus traffic not carried out in the capital rose from 10% in July to 26% currently), creating an unprecedented crisis in terms of quality of service, each passing day brings its share of uncertainties, social or legal, on the auction process, which will concern 18,000 employees of the Régie. Taking her pen on Thursday, Catherine Guillouard, who officially leaves the same evening the presidency of the RATP for personal reasons, spoke one last time to Valérie Pécresse, president of the transport organizing authority IDFM, for a final warning. .
