About Coastal Road Project
This is a very ambitious project undertaken by the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai.
The total length of the project is being constructed from Princess Street flyover to the southern end of Bandra-Worli sea link of 10.58 km. The project includes 4+4 lane embankment roads, bridges, elevated roads and tunnels.
The work on the Coastal Road Project has actually started in October, 2018 and is targeted to be completed by November, 2023.
This project will reduce the time taken for road travel and will help in solving the problem of traffic on the existing roads.
Not only this, the level of air and noise pollution will also be reduced.
Along with this, additional green belt will also be created by improving public transport through dedicated bus routes.
The entire project is divided into three packages.
