Franck Provost hairbrushes, Jean-Louis David nail files or hair accessories bearing the effigy of Disney princesses… Behind all these products lies the company ABC Group, supplier and manufacturer of beauty accessories. Located in Bonneuil-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne), the company was created in 2001 by James Christian Bany, president of ABC Group. With 25 to 30% market share, it is one of the leaders in France in the sale of hairdressing and beauty accessories.

The company recently restructured its capital: Siparex Expansion sold its stake, while the investment fund Rives Croissance reinvested and Bpifrance entered the capital. For President James Christian Bany, who has strengthened his position and remains in the majority, “the entry of Bpifrance is a source of pride and recognition”. The subsidiary of the Caisse des dépôts had already accompanied him during the creation of his warehouse.

Nearly 200 employees

For its development, ABC Group intends to solidify its subsidiary in Spain. In total, the company has nearly 200 employees, including 153 in France. The rest is shared between the group’s five subsidiaries, located in Spain, Belgium, Italy, Poland and Shanghai. The company also distributes its products in some sixty countries.

President James Christian Bany also announced that he wanted to conquer other markets, starting with supermarkets. “We are leaders in hypermarkets but challengers in supermarkets, where our competitors have a plethora of ranges that we don’t have today, such as pharmaceutical products or haberdashery,” he underlines. The company could thus diversify its production in order to be able to offer “complete ranges”.

Electro-beauty sector

E-commerce is another area of development for ABC Group, which already sells some of its products on Amazon or even Cdiscount. One of its flagship products for online sale is the Déméliss Titanium straightener, with which the company has entered the electro-beauty sector. ABC Group is currently working on a second edition of its star straightener, which should be released in time for the holiday season.

ABC Group, which recorded a turnover of 70 million euros last year, also has quantified development objectives. Its president plans to reach 100 million euros in turnover within 4 years.
