Blue Origin rocket fails shortly after lift-off: all the details

Tata Group in talks with Wistron to manufacture iPhone in India: Report

A Blue Origin rocket has failed mid-flight, a day after its lift off. This causes the rocket to abort its cargo capsule for safety before crashing into the Texas desert. The rocket was intended to send NASA-funded experiments and other payloads to the edge of space. The booster crashed in the designated danger zone. The rocket that crashed yesterday had previously flown eight times. It has carried 31 people under Blue Origin’s suborbital space tourism program.

A rocket from Blue Origin, the space company owned by Jeff Bezos, failed mid-flight shortly after takeoff a day earlier. Blue Origin tweeted a video clip showing the capsule firing emergency thrusters to separate from its booster rocket.

The rocket crashed in the Texas desert after aborting its cargo capsule for safety. The accident occurred just over a minute after lift off, approximately 5 miles above the ground, when the New Shepard booster’s engine ignited during ascent.

According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the booster crashed in a designated hazard area.

The mission, named NS-23, was the first uncrewed New Shepard launch of the year and the fourth mission in 2022. Rockets have flown 31 people eight times before.
