It’s the big transfer window of the fall in the bank. Two of the six major French banking groups are currently looking for a new boss. Two weeks ago, the BPCE group, which oversees the Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne networks, announced the departure of the chairman of the management board, Laurent Mignon. And immediately launched an internal selection process to find his successor by Christmas.

This surprise announcement followed that of Societe Generale, a few months earlier. Last May, its managing director Frédéric Oudéa declared that he would leave the bank at the end of his mandate, scheduled for May 2023. Since then, the group’s board of directors has been looking for a new boss, whose the name could be known in the next few days.
