Audio books: the “pure player” Storytel arrives on the French market

It’s a newcomer to the French audio book market, but in no way a young shoot in the sector. This Tuesday, the Swedish group Storytel is launching its services in France. A great landing for which this “pure player” and world player in audiobooks has armed itself with a catalog of 7,700 titles recorded in the language of Molière, supplemented by nearly 150,000 audio books in English.

Hachette (Fayard, Grasset), Editis (Julliard, Plon) Madrigall (Gallimard, Flammarion), Actes Sud…: for this launch, the group has entered into agreements with several major French names in publishing with a view to enriching its catalog which will combine both recent books and the “back catalog” (old titles),
