25 people died after tractor trolley turned turtle in Uttar Pradesh Kanpur

Kanpur road accident A tractor full of devotees met with an accident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. In this accident, 25 devotees died on the spot and 28 were injured. The death toll is likely to rise further. The condition of some of the injured remains critical. The accident happened when all of them were returning to Koratha village after visiting Chandrika Devi temple in Unnao on the occasion of Navratri. The government has announced an assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the accident.

50 devotees from Uttar Pradesh reached Unnao to have darshan of Chandrika Devi. While returning after darshan, the speeding tractor overturned. The tractor trolley fell into the waterlogged field. Due to this the people trapped in the tractor died of suffocation. At present, relief work is going on at the site of the incident.

Condolences from PM Modi
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident and directed the administrative officials to reach the spot immediately. The Prime Minister’s Office has said that they will help the families of the deceased from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. A tweet issued by the office expressed grief over the incident. The PMO said that Rs 2 lakh will be given to the kin of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

As soon as the incident was reported, an ambulance was sent to the spot. However, the local people allege that the administration is neglecting them. They say that the ambulance arrived late due to the negligence of the administration. Had the ambulance arrived on time, more lives could have been saved.
